The manta ray is a fairly simple design, it doesn’t need particularly big or thin paper so you shouldn’t have too much trouble folding it.
Steps…
1. Fold and unfold.
2. Fold and unfold.
3. Fold and unfold.
4. Fold and unfold.
5. Mountain fold and unfold.
6. Valley fold the two corners to the middle.
7. Two simultaneous squash folds at each edge, and one at the corner.
8. Squash fold the corner.
9. Petal fold.
10. Two valley folds.
11. Two half petal folds.
12. Fold and unfold.
13. Fold and unfold.
14. Pleat. Keep the flaps underneath the petal fold made in step 9.
15. Two reverse folds.
16. Fold and unfold.
17. Two open sink folds.
18. Valley fold underneath the petal fold made in step 9.
19. Pleat.
20. Fold and unfold along the crease made in step 2.
21. Two valley folds. The top will squash down.
22. Valley fold.
23. Valley fold.
24. Two valley folds.
25. Two valley folds.
26. Two valley folds.
27. Two valley folds. Turn over.
28. Pleat along existing crease lines.
29. Pleat one existing crease line. The valley fold will be between the crease lines.
30. Pleat one existing crease line. The valley fold will be between the crease lines.
31. Pleat along existing crease lines.
32. Valley fold.
33. Rabbit ear fold so the flap is standing up.
34. Thin and shape tail. Shape front tentacles. Open mouth. Curve body as arrow indicates.
35. Model complete.
