This hermit crab is folded from a rectangle made into two blitzed frog bases.

1. Fold and unfold.

2. Fold and unfold.

3. Fold and unfold.

4. Fold corners in.

5. Turn model over.

6. Two half-preliminary half-waterbomb base folds.

7. Squash fold.

Origami Hermit Crab (step 8)

8. Petal fold.

Origami Hermit Crab (step 9)

9. Unwrap layer.

10. Fold along creases.

11. Fold layer down.

Origami Hermit Crab (step 12)

12. Repeat steps 7-11 on the three other sections.

13. Valley fold.

14. Fold layers down.

15. Mountain fold layer up.

16. Valley fold model in half.

17. Mountain fold flap into the model. Repeat on other side.

19. Reverse fold first pair of legs out.

20. Reverse fold second pair of legs.

21. Crimp third pair of legs.

22. Shape in eyes.

23. Curl shell.

24. Do some final shaping.

    Cool i like that hermit crab haha should upgrade on the shell isee the hermit crabs shell from the beach got lots of pattern :) nice 1

    i think instead a 1 piece you should make the crab only and then with a second piece a paper fold the shell:D

    I have looked at folding shells from a seperate piece of paper, but i haven’t made any shells official as of yet.
