I always wanted to design a hermit crab and this is what I came up with. It’s not the best model I have designed as it is made out of a rectangle and the legs are just a little short. However, I like it and diagrams will be coming soon.

While I was reading about hermit crabs, I found out:

  • Hermit crabs get their shells from dead sea snails!
  • Hermit crabs constantly search for better shells, and fight over the best ones. They can snip each others limbs of and one crab often dies fighting :( Best fold a hermit crab with a nicely patterned shell so it’s better than all the others ;)
  • Some hermit crabs can grow nearly as big as coconuts! Might try folding a hermit crab that big :D

You can find out out more awesome stuff about hermit crabs on Wikipedia.

This is definitely one my favourite models I have designed. It looks pretty good for being a not too complicated model. These photos are of a stick insect I made out of baking paper. It worked very well I thought, and allowed the legs to be very thin just like a real insect :)

Diagrams also coming soon.

This is another model I designed for a competition. It has a pattern made out a lots of tiny waterbomb bases. I especially like this model because it looks quite realistic and is the only fruit I have designed so far.

Any questions, feedback or suggestions for improvement, please comment!

This model is made out of an A4 rectangle. It is the first insect I designed and I hope there will be many more to come. It has a repetative pattern that I did on a grid right the way down the model.
